What the state published, and what the district decides

Memorial Villages Schools by the Numbers, Ratings Cited to the Issuing Body

Updated September 2026

What overall rating did the Texas Education Agency give each Spring Branch ISD campus in 2026?

The Texas Education Agency published its 2026 A to F letters on 14 August 2026, and across the 34 Spring Branch ISD campuses the district's feeder chart names they run A for 12 campuses, B for 12, C for nine and D for one, with a B for the district itself, and they stay preliminary until the final release on 11 December 2026.

What do the two ratings on this page measure, and how often does each change?

The Texas Education Agency issues one overall A to F letter for each district and for each campus it rates, and marks a campus it does not rate Not Rated. On its How Accountability Ratings Work page, read September 2026, the agency puts the letters on three domains, Student Achievement, School Progress and Closing the Gaps, and describes the campus letter this way: "This measures, for each individual school, what students are learning in each grade and whether or not they are ready for the next grade." The same row adds that the letter also shows how well a school prepares its students for success after high school.

The agency reissues those letters every year, so one of them is a reading of a single year rather than a standing description of a campus. It published the 2026 figures on 14 August 2026, and the same spreadsheet carries earlier years beside the current one.

GreatSchools is a national nonprofit that publishes a rating of its own, on its own scale and by its own method. Its page explaining that method, read in September 2026, describes the number at the top of a school profile as "a number from 1 to 10 that provides a snapshot of how a school is doing compared to other schools in the same state". The same page says the number is neither a percentage nor a report-card grade, and that a 5 means a school is "performing right in line with the state average". It also says the rating is calculated from up to three themed ratings, weighted by the research behind each measure and by how much data is available, and that GreatSchools does not rank schools against one another. Each campus page carries its own date, and every one read for the table below was dated 29 May 2026.

Both figures are attached to a campus rather than to a street, a subdivision or a village. Which campus an address is zoned to is a separate question, and the district answers that one address at a time, which is what the rest of this page is about.

What rating did each Spring Branch ISD campus carry in 2026?

Spring Branch ISD's own letter for 2026 is a B. Across the 34 campuses the district's feeder chart names, the 2026 letters run A for 12 campuses, B for 12, C for nine and D for one, each of them read off the Texas Education Agency 2026 Statewide Multi-Year Ratings Spreadsheet in September 2026.

Beside each letter the table carries that campus's GreatSchools rating, out of 10. Each one was read in September 2026 on that campus's own page, reached from the pages GreatSchools lists for Spring Branch Independent School District. All 34 campuses on the chart have one.

The table lists those campuses in alphabetical order, so that a reader can find one, rather than in any order of rating. It covers the campuses the feeder chart names. The district runs other campuses as well, including the choice schools whose admission is by lottery, and the agency publishes a letter for those in the same file.

Read a row for what it is: two figures for one campus, each from the body that issued it and each carrying its own date. The two bodies publish on different scales and by different methods, so a row holds two separate readings rather than one figure stated twice.

Overall ratings for the 34 campuses named on the district's feeder chart. The letters come from the Texas Education Agency's 2026 statewide multi-year ratings spreadsheet; the numbers out of 10 come from GreatSchools, read in September 2026 on the campus pages it publishes for the district, each of those pages dated 29 May 2026.

Are the 2026 letters final?

They are preliminary until December. The agency's 2026 A-F Accountability Ratings Appeals Process and Timeline, dated 12 August 2026, opened the appeals window on 12 August 2026 and closed it at 5pm on 11 September 2026, and it sets the 2026 final release for 11 December 2026, when, in the timeline's own words, "The outcomes of all appeals are reflected in the final ratings and year counts update."

The same timeline attaches one more condition to every figure in that file: ratings and year counts "are subject to change due to the results of an audit, compliance review, or investigation". So a letter is dated evidence of what the agency published on a day rather than a promise about a school year.

The agency links its own campus lookup, TXschools.gov, from its accountability page, and the same timeline says the public websites are updated when the final ratings are released, so a reader who needs the current letter checks it there.

Which of these campuses has the U.S. Department of Education recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School, and when?

The U.S. Department of Education runs the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program. On the program's own home page, read as it stood in September 2025, the award is described as "the United States Department of Education's award program honoring high-performing schools and schools that are making great strides in closing achievement gaps". An award names one campus and one year, so a year in the table below records what the Department published then rather than anything about the campus now.

The program's cumulative list names every school it had recognized since 1982, and it identifies each one by the school's own name and its mailing city rather than by district. Every Spring Branch ISD campus carries a Houston mailing address, so each row below is a match on the campus name the district's feeder chart uses. For one campus the program's own record settles the district: Frostwood Elementary's 2005 application names Spring Branch Independent School District and the state campus number 101920104, which is the number the state directory gives for that campus further down this page.

After 2019 the program published one list a year. Its lists for 2020, 2021 and 2022 name no campus below. Nor does the 2023 list, or its page of 2024 awardees, which is the last cohort the program published.

The program's own website no longer serves these documents. Read on 18 September 2026, nationalblueribbonschools.ed.gov sends every address to ed.gov, where the pages return a not-found error, and the Internet Archive holds no working copy of the site after September 2025. Every link in this section goes to the Archive's copy, which is where these documents were read.

The 14 campuses on the district's feeder chart that the program's own record names, with each award year written as the record writes it. The years come from the program's cumulative list, Schools Recognized 1982 Through 2019, read in September 2026 in the Internet Archive's copy.

How does Spring Branch ISD decide which campus an address is zoned to?

The district states the rule in its own words. On the Spring Branch ISD Find My Zoned School page, read March 2023: "An attendance area is established for each Spring Branch ISD school. Students attend the school located in the attendance area in which they reside." The same page sends a household to the School Locator to determine a zoned school.

The rule reads the same way at a later date. On the Spring Branch ISD Feeder Patterns page, read January 2026, under the heading Attendance zones: "Students attend the school in the attendance area in which they reside."

Draw the consequence carefully. The unit of assignment is the attendance area rather than the village. The Memorial Villages are six separate cities, Hunters Creek, Piney Point, Hedwig, Bunker Hill, Spring Valley and Hilshire, and their city boundaries and any school district's boundary are drawn by different bodies for different purposes. Spring Branch ISD's documents cover the campuses named on this page, and a village name settles municipal questions such as permitting rather than school questions. Which district an address sits in, and which campus inside it, are both settled for the address by the district.

Which campuses does the district's feeder chart connect, and to which high schools?

The Spring Branch ISD School Feeder Patterns chart is the district's own routing document, and it works campus to campus: which middle schools lead to which high school, and which elementary campuses sit under each middle school. It carries no village names, no street names and no address ranges.

Read it with two cautions. Memorial Middle School appears under two high schools on the chart, Memorial High School and Stratford High School, and several elementary campuses appear under more than one middle school, so a campus name alone does not settle the next campus.

The chart below is the whole district's rather than a selection, because which rows serve a given address is a question the district answers for that address.

What does the state's school directory say about those campuses?

The Texas Education Agency AskTED school directory, School and District File with Site Address, read September 2026, carries the state's own campus facts: official name, campus number, grade range and site address. Its district line records Spring Branch Independent School District as district number 101920 at 955 Campbell Rd in Houston, with a district enrollment as of October 2025 of 31,633 students.

The file has a limit worth knowing before anybody reads a location off it. It prints Houston as the city for every Spring Branch ISD campus, including campuses whose street address lies inside one of the six villages, because the column records a mailing address rather than a municipal boundary. Nothing in it says which village a campus stands in.

What if the address sits in the Houston ISD strip?

Houston ISD's published boundary map takes in the southern edge of Hunters Creek Village and Piney Point Village, and the City of Piney Point Village's own quick facts, read September 2026, name both districts for that city: "School District: Spring Branch Independent School District / Houston Independent School District".

Every row in the table above is a Spring Branch ISD campus. An address on that southern edge is zoned to Houston ISD campuses this page does not list, and Houston ISD publishes its own address lookup, School Navigator.

So an address here carries two questions rather than one: which district it sits in, and which campus inside that district. Put both in writing to the district the lookup returns, before an offer, and keep the reply.

Where did the district's attendance-zone maps go?

In December 2018 the district's Maps section published a map per campus: 25 elementary, 7 middle and 4 high school files, plus a district map. That is 36 per-campus maps in all, each one a separate file on the district's own resource manager.

In March 2023 the items listed under Maps were a District Map, Feeder Patterns, Find My Zoned School and School Attendance Zone Maps, and the Find My Zoned School page carried the attendance area rule quoted above.

By January 2026, the items listed under Maps were Feeder Patterns and Find My Zoned School, with the School Attendance Zone Maps and District Map entries gone. By July 2026 the Maps page had changed again: the entire body was an address search and a link, and Find My Zoned School also sat in the site footer under Enroll.

One instruction follows from that history. The district's current answer for one address is the address search, so put the address to the district rather than hunting for a map. The 2018 files are a record of what the district published in 2018, and a copy of one found somewhere else carries the same date.

How do you use the district's address search, and what should you ask for in writing?

The district describes its own tool in an April 2024 news post: a school search that allows families to locate their present and future zoned schools by simply searching their address. It is reachable from the district's Maps page and from the site footer.

Spring Branch ISD SchoolSearch is an application rather than a document. The record to keep on a purchase file is the district's own written answer.

Put the question to the district in writing, and make it specific. Name the exact street address, including a unit or lot number where there is one. Name the school year. Ask for the zoned campus at each of the three levels, elementary, middle and high school, because the feeder chart shows a middle school can lead to more than one high school. Ask when the answer was last reviewed, and whether any boundary change is under consideration for that school year.

What are Spring Branch ISD's transfer rules?

Any family who lives inside Spring Branch ISD is eligible for a transfer application, and acceptance is based on the number of available openings, by grade level. The district publishes three descriptors for school availability: Available, where the school has openings in all or most grades; Limited, where openings are limited and some grades might be closed; and Closed. There are no transfers to the choice schools whose admission is by lottery, including Cornerstone, Westchester Academy and any dual language program.

An approved transfer is authorized for one scholastic year. Under Spring Branch ISD Board Policy FDA and Board Policy FDB, a principal may non-renew a transfer during the school year or at the end of it on criteria the district lists: space in the school, the grade level, specialty classes and special programs; satisfactory attendance including tardies; passing grades, satisfactory conduct and no violations in the Code of Conduct at Levels III, IV and V; and transportation, which the parent provides to and from school. Once the acceptance window is closed there are no waitlists for schools, and there are no fees for in-district applications.

The window runs on the district's own calendar. On the Spring Branch ISD Transfer Process page read August 2026, the status line read that the transfer application window was closed. A purchase that depends on a transfer depends on something the district has not granted.

What does this mean when you are buying or selling here?

A rating describes a campus, and the campus comes from the address, so confirm the zoned campus for the exact address before an offer rather than after, and keep the district's written answer with the file.

A seller can do the same work in advance. The question gets asked on this kind of file, and a written answer from the district beats a recollection.

Attendance areas can change, and so do both sets of figures, so read them for what they are: dated evidence of what a body published on a day rather than a promise about a future school year.

On a Memorial Villages file it sits beside the other address-level records: the parcel's Harris Central Appraisal District account, the village's permit records and the flood plain answer for the address.

What can this page not tell you?

Which campus a particular address is zoned to. The district answers that, and only for an address, through its own search and its written reply.

Which streets or which village any campus serves. The district publishes no current document that says so: its feeder chart names campuses only, and the per-campus maps from December 2018 were gone from the items listed under Maps by January 2026.

Which of the six villages a campus stands in. The state directory records Houston as the city for every Spring Branch ISD campus, because that column holds a mailing address.

Which district a particular address sits in. Two districts publish boundaries across the villages, and only a district settles it for one address.

The figures for a Houston ISD campus. Every row here is a Spring Branch ISD campus, and Houston ISD's own lookup is where that district's list starts.

Whether the state's 2026 letters will stand. The agency releases the final ones on 11 December 2026, and it can change one afterwards on the result of an audit, a compliance review or an investigation.

Whether a transfer will be granted. The district decides that on space, by grade level, inside its own application window.

Which campus two more entries on the program's list belong to. The list names Memorial Junior High School and Northbrook Senior High School in Houston, both recognized in 1988-89, and neither name is on the district's current feeder chart. The list names a school by its own name and its mailing city, so nothing in it says which campus either one is today.

Questions & answers

Memorial Villages questions, answered

Which school district serves the Memorial Villages?

Spring Branch Independent School District serves most of the Memorial Villages, and Houston ISD's published boundary map takes in the southern edge of Hunters Creek Village and Piney Point Village. Spring Branch assigns by attendance area: it establishes an attendance area for each school, and students attend the school in the attendance area where they reside. Confirm the district and the zoned campus for the exact address with Spring Branch ISD's Find My Zoned School lookup, and ask for the answer in writing.

The City of Piney Point Village's own quick facts name both districts for that city, which is exactly why the address lookup matters. The six villages are six separate cities, and their city limits and any school district's boundary are drawn by different bodies for different purposes, so one does not read off the other. A village name settles a municipal question, such as which permitting office you deal with. Spring Branch ISD's one current static document about zoning is its School Feeder Patterns chart, which routes campuses to campuses and names no village, no street and no address range. The per-campus attendance zone maps the district published in December 2018 were no longer listed under Maps by January 2026, and by July 2026 the Maps page's body was an address search and a link. That is why the useful answer is a written one from the district for your exact address and school year.

What overall rating did the state give the Spring Branch ISD campuses in 2026?

The Texas Education Agency published its 2026 A to F letters on 14 August 2026. Across the 34 Spring Branch ISD campuses the district's feeder chart names, they run A for 12 campuses, B for 12, C for nine and D for one, and the district's own letter is a B. Those letters are preliminary: appeals closed at 5pm on 11 September 2026 and the final release is 11 December 2026.

The agency issues one overall letter for each district and for each campus it rates, marks a campus it does not rate Not Rated, and reissues the letters every year, so a letter is a reading of a single year rather than a standing description of a campus. Its own appeals timeline adds that ratings and year counts are subject to change after an audit, a compliance review or an investigation. A letter belongs to a campus, which is why the campus is settled first. Spring Branch ISD assigns by attendance area, and it answers which campus an address is zoned to through its own address search and its written reply. Houston ISD's published boundary map takes in the southern edge of Hunters Creek Village and Piney Point Village, and an address there is zoned to Houston ISD campuses instead, which that district's own lookup returns.

How do I find out which Spring Branch ISD campus my address is zoned to?

Use the district's own address search, then get the answer in writing. In an April 2024 news post the district describes the tool as a school search that lets families find their present and future zoned schools by searching an address, and it links to it from the Maps page and from the site footer. Then write to the district with the exact street address and the school year.

The search is an application rather than a document, so the record you keep on a purchase file is the district's own written reply. In that written request, name the address exactly, including a unit or lot number where there is one, and name the school year you are asking about. Ask for the zoned campus at all three levels, elementary, middle and high school, because the district's feeder chart shows a middle school can appear under more than one high school. Ask when the answer was last reviewed, and whether any boundary change is under consideration for that school year. Attendance areas can change, so the reply is dated evidence of what the district said on a day.

Does Spring Branch ISD publish attendance-zone maps?

In December 2018 the district published one map per campus, covering elementary, middle and high schools, plus a district map. In March 2023 its Maps section still listed School Attendance Zone Maps and a District Map. By January 2026, the items listed under Maps were Feeder Patterns and Find My Zoned School, and by July 2026 the Maps page's body was an address search and a link.

So the district's current answer for one address is the address search. Treat a 2018 file as a record of what the district published in 2018, including a copy of one that turns up somewhere else, because it carries the same date. The chart the district does still publish, School Feeder Patterns, connects campuses to campuses. It shows which middle schools lead to which high school and which elementary campuses sit under each middle school, and it carries no village names, no street names and no address ranges. For a specific house, run the address search and then ask the district in writing for the zoned campus at each level for the school year you care about.

Which middle schools does the feeder chart route into Memorial High School?

Three, on the Spring Branch ISD School Feeder Patterns chart read September 2026: Landrum Middle School, Memorial Middle School and Spring Branch Middle School. Under those the chart lists Valley Oaks below Landrum Middle School; Bunker Hill, Frostwood and Rummel Creek below Memorial Middle School; and Bunker Hill, Housman, Hunters Creek, Memorial Drive, Spring Branch and Valley Oaks below Spring Branch Middle School. The chart connects campuses to campuses only.

Read those rows with two cautions the chart itself creates. Memorial Middle School is also listed under Stratford High School, so a middle school name alone does not settle the high school. Several elementary campuses are listed under more than one middle school, including Bunker Hill, Valley Oaks and Wilchester, so an elementary name alone does not settle the middle school either. The chart also carries no village names, no street names and no address ranges, which means no row on it can be read as the row for a particular street or village. The campus at each of the three levels for a specific address comes from the district, through its address search and its written answer for that address and school year.

Can a Memorial Villages address be zoned to a high school other than Memorial High School?

The district answers that for one address, and its chart shows why the question is worth asking in writing: Memorial Middle School is listed under two high schools, Memorial High School and Stratford High School. A campus name alone does not settle the next campus. Ask Spring Branch ISD for the zoned elementary, middle and high school for the exact street address and the school year.

What the district publishes now is an address search, with the link repeated in its site footer. Its feeder chart names campuses only, and the per-campus attendance zone maps from December 2018 were gone from the Maps items by January 2026, so no published document maps a street or a village to a campus. That makes the written question the practical step. Give the district the full address, including a unit or lot number where there is one, name the school year, and ask for all three levels rather than one. Ask when the answer was last reviewed as well, and keep the reply with the rest of the address-level records on the file.

What grades does Memorial High School serve?

Grades 09 to 12, according to the Texas Education Agency AskTED school directory read September 2026. The same file lists the campus number as 101920001 and the site address as 935 Echo Ln, and it records the city as Houston, as it does for every Spring Branch ISD campus. Which addresses are zoned to the campus is a separate question, and the district answers that one address at a time.

The directory is the state's own file, and for each campus it carries the official name, the campus number, the grade range and the site address. Its Spring Branch ISD district line records district number 101920 at 955 Campbell Rd in Houston, with a district enrollment as of October 2025 of 31,633 students. What the file does record about location is a mailing address. That is why the city column reads Houston for every campus, including campuses whose street address lies inside one of the six villages, and why the village question and the zoning question both go back to the district and the city rather than to this file.

Is a campus address the same thing as the village it serves?

No. The state directory prints Houston as the city for every Spring Branch ISD campus, including campuses whose street address lies inside one of the six villages, because the column records a mailing address rather than a municipal boundary. Attendance areas are drawn by the district and city limits are drawn by the villages, so a campus location settles neither which village it stands in nor which addresses it serves.

The same separation runs through the district's own documents. The School Feeder Patterns chart connects campuses to campuses and names no village, no street and no address range, and the per-campus maps published in December 2018 were no longer listed under Maps by January 2026. For a buyer or seller, the workable version is short: read the state file for a campus name, number, grade range and site address, and put the address question to the district. Its search returns the present and future zoned schools for an address, and its written reply is what belongs on the file.

Can I apply to transfer to a different Spring Branch ISD campus?

Any family who lives inside Spring Branch ISD is eligible to apply, and acceptance is based on the number of available openings, by grade level. The district publishes three descriptors for school availability: Available, Limited and Closed. There are no transfers to the choice schools whose admission is by lottery, including Cornerstone, Westchester Academy and any dual language program. In-district applications carry no fee.

An approved transfer is authorized for one scholastic year. Under Spring Branch ISD Board Policy FDA and Board Policy FDB, a principal may non-renew it during the school year or at the end of it on stated criteria: available space, the grade level, specialty classes and special programs; satisfactory attendance including tardies; passing grades, satisfactory conduct and no violations in the Code of Conduct at Levels III, IV and V; and transportation, which the parent provides to and from school. To be considered, an online application has to be completed by the required deadline, and the district runs that deadline on its own calendar. Late applications are for district employees who accept employment after the window, and the application carries priorities, including priority for full-time eligible district employees, whether or not they live in the district. Once the acceptance window is closed there are no waitlists for schools. On the district's Transfer Process page read August 2026, the status line read that the transfer application window was closed, so a purchase that depends on a transfer depends on something the district has not granted.

What should I ask Spring Branch ISD in writing before I make an offer?

Send the exact street address, including a unit or lot number where there is one, name the school year, and ask for the zoned campus at each of the three levels, elementary, middle and high school. Ask when that answer was last reviewed, and whether any boundary change is under consideration for that year. Keep the reply with the file.

Ask for all three levels rather than one, because the district's chart shows a middle school can appear under two high schools and an elementary campus can appear under two middle schools. Ask for the school year by name, since attendance areas can change and the district's answer is dated evidence of what it said on a day rather than a promise about a future year. A seller can do the same work before listing, because a buyer will ask and a written answer from the district beats a recollection. On a Memorial Villages file the reply sits beside the other address-level records: the parcel's Harris Central Appraisal District account, the village's permit records and the flood plain answer for the address. Whether an agent has read those records is one of the questions to ask before you hire an agent in the Memorial Villages.
